Facebooked, Cutted, Pasted...

Rebecca Padilla is wondering... is it really the "Media coverage of his brother being taken into custody [that] further agitated the hostage-taker"-(Phil Star's article on "Statement of President Aquino on the Quirino Grandstand hostage crisis"), OR was it the way his brother was taken into custody by the "authorities'

"I remember when malacanang issued their “only” statement during the hostage crisis, it goes something like – “we don’t think the hostage crisis will affect the tourism industry because it’s just an isolated case”. Now WHAT? It’s not only the tourism industry that’s been affected now but more so the OFW’s in Hong Kong and it’s all because of P-Noys governments ignorance and carelessness. They couldn’t even manage a single hostage taker how much more if it’s a bunch of terrorists. All they’ve done since day one was finger pointing now ALL THE FINGERS ARE POINTING ON THEM. (While OFW's in Hong Kong who manages to go out of a corrupt government and seek refuge from another country is again being hounded by ignorance and carelessness of their corrupt government they thought they've left behind)"

In my opinion... but then it is just me, is...
I feel that THIS statement IS what could have been censored in the first place.
Aaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for reminding us "Mang Juan". I felt the same way the moment I read about the statement...
Goodnight folks...

It is so sad really...
You are right, No leader visible indeed. Well, in the final analysis, the media was right after all with their exercise supporting everyone with sheer transparency. However everyone's opinion may differ, at least they were based on what we saw and not just from hearsay (basically). I have seen this happen before in different situation. I still can't explain why and what truly can motivate our leaders to act faithfully during these situations when we need them most, and why they do not.
As for Love and consideration... ironically was felt and displayed by the least unexpected- the "culprit" himself. I think.
When he allowed the hostage/s to go for a pee I said to myself, "Gee! thats compassion!"
Tragic...

Does anyone know how much of our tax money is budgeted to maintain our police/military force and agencies every year againts the budgets alloted for our health, education etc, for example?

These awakening situations are escalating to a speed that does not give us any more chance to forget where we stand.
Awakening, enlightening indeed...
And yet, it bothers me to find myself saying "Thank God!" at this point. Even that doesn't sound right don't you think?
Sigh...

In less than a year, and at the expense of those that Ondoy left homeless, Ampatuan massacre victims, Jason Ivler's near fatal involvement in the death of young Ebarle, Marlene Aguilar's controversial battle for her son's human rights and of ours, Ivan Padilla's senseless death sentence , Mendoza and the hostage victims, we all seem to be waking up...socially enlightened and short of saying "Thank God", but can not...

I am tempted to say (again) " how did we come to this?"
Yet I shall not.

I can only wish that we get out of these mess sooner, lest we forget again! And when we do forget again, I wish we may be reminded less harshly than these.

I wish we may be able to admit that it is not the fault anymore of our law-makers, or law-breakers, or our politicians, or of the media or of our parents etc...but OURS. When we care enough to admit that and stand up UNITED in good and compassionate stead, then perhaps we too can say we have fulfilled our life purpose.

"Angry thought, desperate thought remind me that there is only truth to live for,for any compromise to truth is a poisonous lie, an infection that has constantly spread within people's souls and teaches them to fear the fear that causes revelations and progress, that causes Love to those scared of being sacred..."
